How to Cut Around More Blocks (Reverse Cut Explained)
The reverse cut explained, get around blocks from either side.
The standard cut shot handles blockers on one side, but what about when the open lane is on the other? That's where the reverse cut comes in, and it doubles the ways you can reach the hole.
Why you need it
Most players only have a cut in one direction, so a smart opponent just blocks that side. Add the reverse cut and there's no "safe" side to block, you can come around a bag from the left or the right.
How it works
The reverse cut angles the bag in from the opposite direction of your natural cut. It feels awkward at first because it runs against your comfortable release, so start slow and exaggerate the angle until the path clicks. A loose, corner grip again helps the bag slide rather than stick.
Drill both directions
Set a blocker bag in front of the hole and practice getting around it from both sides until neither feels foreign. Keep your mechanics the same, only the aim and angle change. Now you can attack a clogged board from anywhere.
